Sadly, pride, unbelief are powerful forces as well. Rather than driving us to become overcomers, pride and unbelief can drive us to failure (pride comes before a fall?). Look at my example, I am here helping my mother (she helps me in her ways as well); I grew up around them-my family by the flesh- and they heard the prophecies that were spoken over my life by men and women of God, even at an early age. Yet, their unbelief is mind boggling. Lets hold meetings, go to pastors of their churchs (lets hold a revival) and it seems the words I speak–God’s word-is not good enough for them. I been in ministry too long and helped too many people to start over because some do not accept it or they want to be in charge rather than God. The good news, even though I was surprised at first, we can see Jesus go through similar trials. Jesus wept for Israel (Israel by the flesh). Did Jesus feel pain when He was on this earth? Absolutely, physical and emotional yet we should do what He did-press on (Philippians 3:14, Matthew 10:14) and keep our peace. Many of us want to hear “well done” from the one’s we love, but sometimes life in a fallen world does not work out that way; however, if we are hearing from God and doing God’s word–“good job!”
Philippians 3:14 (NKJV) I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 10:14 (NKJV) And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Mark 6:3-4 NKJV [3] Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him. [4] But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
Matthew 25:23 (NKJV) His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Matthew 3:17 (NKJV) And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
